I'm not getting hoax vibes.  Gilead Sciences has been in communication with the poster via DMs.  It's 100% possible that there's an unknown, underlying condition that made him go from healthy 30-something to this bad.  However, the virus has also mutated and there is one strain that is much worse than the other.    [/quote]

Damn, I'm getting really tired of the DCUM misinformation.

1.  There is NO CLEAR EVIDENCE that the "virus has mutated" and that there is a worse strain.  All viruses mutate, that's normal.  The paper that made this claim is being widely criticized and warned against "over-interpreting." 2.  It is ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE for a young person to have a severe reaction to the coronavirus.  In particular, health care workers exposed to a high dose of the virus might have a stronger immune reaction and a severe case. It's not an "unknown, underlying condition."  This is a false belief that people have to make themselves feel better. [/quote]
