You forgot to mention all the militia based there and all the others who regularly travel to Maine from other parts of the country to train for the coming race wars.

Look up the Charlie Howard killing for an idea of Maine’s warmth toward the LGBTQ community and realize that a substantial number of Maine people grew up in homes where they still refer to the chuck a **** bridge over the Kenduskeag River in Bangor where the rainbow pride crosswalk painted a week or so ago has been defaced repeatedly by locals.

If you use real data like NAEP scores, graduation rates, and school quality metrics instead of the flawed Kids Count Data Book, Maine actually ranks #13 and Alabama #42.

Maine isn’t especially exceptional in that category.  Militias target Maine because of its rural, underpopulated nature and lack of diversity, not because it’s some kind of KKK recruiting hotbed.  Nazis tried to start up a white ethnostate in Springfield and got booted out.[/quote]
