Crossfield now want a magnet school so they don’t get sent to KAA. Pathetic.
Where have they publicly advocated for this? Last I heard they were advocating for Option B of the four maps. I didn't hear anyone at a meeting say KAA should be a magnet. Are they lobbying school board members behind closed doors or something?
On their own website: https://rootedinoakton.com/ourposition
I just clicked on that link and under “our position” it says option b.
Don’t mislead people. It also says: “Equity and Choice: A magnet model would make Western's specialized "school-within-a-school" programs available to all FCPS students, aligning directly with district equity goals without redrawing boundaries.”
Oh look. This section of their website mysteriously disappeared. I guess the Crossfield parents running the rooted in Oakton group realized they made a strategic mistake in calling for a magnet and decided to change course.
