No one who rides a bike in this city would recognize the wild story people on here tell about how much clout cyclists have in D.C. politics anyway, but at least now there's tangible proof.[/quote] I mean, obviously, the bike lobby is powerful. the government has spend *billions* of dollars over the years to subsidize the hobby of a small number of upper income white men (this, in a city where one quarter of children live in poverty). now the tide is turning and, hopefully, most of the bike lanes will eventually be removed.
