Fail to see how any of this matters. M&D and Hero's players develop outside their clubs just like Capital players do. Important factor is the talent on the field and where the clubs get their girls committed. That's what counts. Clubs get girls committed, not individual coaches. Fact remains there are nearly as many Capital girls on the top three teams as M&D, there are no Hero's girls on any of the top three teams, and Capital players received more game experience than M&D and Hero's combined in 2025.
It provides context. Here's another example. SSSAS is coached by KJ, another legend. She has done an amazing job building and maintaining that program. She coaches and teaches lacrosse to her girls. She will handle recruiting for her girls even if they are with Capital. That has long been established. While Capital, their club team, gets "credit" for their commitments. Everyone in the lacrosse world knows it's because of KJ. SSSAS developed those players for years. KJ built the bonds and advocated for those players. In the 2026 class, SSSAS players have committed to: 2 Harvard, Butler, Chicago, Columbia, Denver, Duquesne, Mercer, Michigan, Tampa, VT and W&M. All of those girls represented Capital. The recruiting was handled by KJ. So in reality, what did Capital do for those players and their commitment? Capital provided stable coaching and the opportunity to be seen at top tournaments in top brackets. To me, any top club could have done it with those girls. I imagine having most of her players at one club helps with dialogue but KJ's work behind the scenes is what truly helped those girls get recruited. It was an amazing job by the SSSAS team, congrats ladies. Capital parents want to say it's because Capital. Capital versus the rest of DMV. The best players continue to get better with better coaching and having opportunities to challenge themselves. The best club teams are the ones with better coaching and are usually the higher ranked teams.
