Hoping for some advice... DD was offered a two slots - travel on a low caliber club and development on a pretty high one. We're debating whether its better to get much more field time with the former (which gets clobbered during tournaments) or spend fewer hours playing (no tournaments etc) but as part of a far more elite organization with presumably better coaching - and maybe a pathway to travel. She's also on her HS JV team. Goal isn't to get a scholarship to college, but rather to develop as a player and have fun.
You are going to need to name the clubs. Development at some clubs is not meant to help your daughter improve much, just offset costs. And the coaching a developmental program receives is likely much lower than that of their top teams. So don’t assume developmental at a top club is anything special.
Developmental is at Next Level.
Is it just skill work? No games is a concern to me because your daughter needs to be able to implement the skills she is learning at game speed. Is hoco an option? Does her high school participate in the Capital League? I wouldn’t go to the team you mentioned as getting clobbered. Are there any other clubs you can consider?
She can register as an individual with Capital League. OP, are you in MD or VA?
