The war will end when Russia is crushed and Putin is removed from power. We must give them whatever they need to do so. Anything else will just prolong Putin’s aggression toward Ukraine or other states. There is no appeasement, there is no way for a truce.
You are very naive if you think that it is one person war. There is a huge conglomerate behind Putin that will continue his work. Additionally, Putin can remain in power for another 15 years.
Russia is moving toward a civil war each day. First individual soldiers will stop following orders, (2) next whole units will refuse orders or join the other side, (3)next units will turn on other units and (4)finally it’s a civil war. Right now we are between 2 and 3. Russia has a history of this.
So wish this was true but I really do not see it happening this way. Some Russian leader was quoted as saying something to the effect of “because we look like you; you assume we think like you” - referring to white Europeans and the west. I am sure someone can figure out this quote - whomever said it. But Russians are not wired like us; they have no ambition or drive for freedom or liberty- like they missed that gene in the human DNA. It simply does not exist. Unfortunately for the world; the Ukrainians labeling them “orcs” fits very well.
The West has never considered Russians fully white, or indeed, fully human. This is why you never see any discussion at all about the horrors of Nazi occupation in the USSR. These victims don't really count. When they are brought up, it's always with a qualification that somehow makes it less real, or less horrible, or less attributable to Germany.
I don't know why it's not taught in US schools, but it was Stalin's holodomor in 1932-33 that was the inspiration for Hitler's holocaust. The Nazi's got more press since they used high-tech concentration camps instead of just sending people off to Siberia. https://holodomor.ca/resource/holodomor-basic-facts/#:~:text=The%20term%20Holodomor%20(death%20by,peasantry%2C%20who%20resisted%20Soviet%20policies. The Russians need to admit that Stalin was the original source.
Ask Georgia lol.
