well, it involved 700 people.  so at some point, this was all going to come out anyway.  the FBI had wiretaps of conversations irrespective of greedy rich people taking tax deductions for bribes.[/quote]

The FBI has the tapes because they found out that Singer was shady and he started cooperating.
