^ I’ve now read the text of the law and personally I hope that Liman avoids the constitutional issue altogether either by saying CA doesn’t apply and/or her action was filed with malice. I think the amicus were well intentioned but I don’t think they know who they’re siding with in terms of the facts. Fine. One can support the law, but still find it shouldn’t be weaponized inappropriately. Which is what Blake is doing here. I’ll add that I think this was a decent PR move by Blake’s side, so congrats to you. You earned part of your fees
Just a normal feminist lawyer who happens to disagree with you about mostly everything in this case, but please keep finding excuses for male feminist Justin Baldoni, whose ace attorney Bryan Freedman is arguing that this CA law should be overturned as unconstitutional.
Look, you’ve earned your fees for the day. Good job. Blake is no SH victim so let’s move on.
Sadly, I am not raking in any cash here for my very considered opinions lol, but I guess it’s easier to tell yourself that than believe normal women believe Lively was sexually harassed and then retaliated against. Occam’s razor after all — it’s the simplest answer for why I’m posting in her defense here but I guess the hardest for you to accept. I will say again that I have some experience with SH and know very well that most victims are not perfect. We are not all Taylor Swift who could file an expensive lawsuit against our SH’s to recover just $1, though that suit *was* amazing. Many of us never file because we are afraid of retaliation or the charge of complicity. Like the cycle of domestic violence, it’s not always safe to refuse or leave, perhaps not physically unsafe as with DV, but in terms of your job and income. So I believe it will almost always be fairly easy for male abusers to find reasons to drag their victims’ names through the mud. And I don’t like it. I believe Lively was harassed and made the 17 point list to benefit not just herself but other actresses on set, and then filed the lawsuit when she found out about the smear campaign. It’s not hard to believe that if you don’t get distracted by Freedman’s conspiracy theories, but I guess those are more fun.
