This was really helpful, thanks. I had somehow completely forgotten that Littlefinger started the whole thing by convincing Lysa Arryn (Cat's sister) to have her husband John Arryn killed, which set in chain that whole series of events ending up with Ned's beheading. For some reason I still had it in my head that Cersei had orchestrated John Arryn's killing because he had figured out that her kids were not Robert Baratheon's and he was finding all of Baratheon's bastards to line them up for the throne instead.[/quote]
