Graham Platner has been most inclusive of people of color of all senate candidates in Maine. Just sayin’
How do you know this? I’ve watched many town meetings and never needed all the digits on one hand to count the people of color in the audience.
I’m from Maine & live here. It’s a hugely white state (~98%) which explains why you see so few people of color at his town halls. I read blackgirlinmaine / Shay Stewart-Bouley, a black writer, community organizer, anti-racism advocate. Reaching out to & working with people of color has been part of his campaign from its start (according to Shay). The national media generally does a poor job of understanding Maine and its people.
