I apologize if this has already been answered, but I'm a little new to this thread. Why did the coach of BSC 10 get fired by FVU? Seems like he was doing well over there and was asked to leave, why? Because he wouldn’t play kickball. Come on, I'm being serious. What happened?
He was told to choose between Union and GFR after GFR bought his contract-for-hire coaching company a year earlier. He chose not to dump GFR. Union didn't renew his contract for the following season, but let him finish out his term for the rest of the season including the playoffs. During that time, he negotiated an offer with Bethesda to keep coaching both programs and some of his players followed him to Bethesda. Pretty straightforward.
Why did Union make him choose between GFR and Union? Union invited a bunch of no name clubs to join afterwards — why not just add GFR? At some point it seemed like GFR was going to join.
VYS doesn't want GFR involved and VYS got control after MYS bailed on FVU.
Do the powers that be at VYS really have that much leverage? It’s a mid level club at best. How’d they get such authority while being a no nothing club? Crazy
This makes no sense. Why would the power brokers at ECNL allow such a low level club to be in charge of a major market? It makes no sense that one of the weakest clubs in Fairfax County would wield so much power. Is that possibly why MYS left for GA?
ECNL didnt want to lose market share by kicking Brave out of ECNL like they should have. They didnt want to lose the DMV market that they make so much money from. They coerced MYS into forming FVU. VYS, BRSC, and MYS each had an equal share. Less then a year in Mys decided VYS and BRSC weren't going to work as a partnership and left. FVU is an odd entity...they have Virginia Union awards, stats, etc all over their social media like FVU is not a new entity. The entire thing is an embarrassment all they way around
