I watched SNL this week with my DH and it was really funny and they poked a ton of fun at Trump and people around him. I don't watch that show consistently but it was the funniest one I've seen in a long time. And something that struck me while I watched it is how important it is that we can do this. No, it's not trenchant political commentary. It's just making fun of the rich and powerful for our own entertainment. As long as we can do this, things aren't that bad. So I will gleefully make jokes about Melania looking like the Hamburglar or discuss Invanka's horrible plastic surgery or Lauren Sánchez's seeming inability to wear an entire shirt for even the most somber occasion.
