You aren't aware of parents that complain to teachers and/or coaches? In the DMV? While blessedly you aren't one, they are very real.

Also, I think the main point was that academic teaching is hard with lots of dealing with parents, and coaching is also hard with lots of dealing with parents, so it would be easier or better to coach while being in an athletic or PE department. Not necessarily that dealing with parents is entirely nightmarish, but that life would be easier if you don't have multiple parent facing roles. [/quote]
