Like I think that would be hard to come back from no matter what, but given that Shiv is pregnant... I think if they still wind up together, it will be shown to be a deeply cynical choice on both sides, Tom staying for the money and the lifestyle, Shiv staying so she can have an intact family (assuming she decides to have the baby) and because she will decide it's the most she can hope for given how screwed up she is.
