+2. And someone’s going to have to explain to me why she’s a racist for simply describing the guys race to the police. She obviously went a bit nuts and overreacted but I can’t climb into someone else’s mind and determine the level of threat she felt, even if it was misconstrued.
You are like an ostrich hiding your head in the sand. How have you not seen that police response to black men suspected of crimes have been mistreated, abused and KILLED by police in response. Read about what happened to George Floyd on the same day. Read what happened to Oscar Grant, Stephon Clark, Walter Scott, the list goes on an on. Black men are disportionately shot, assaulted, beaten and killed by police. There are many cases of black men who are nonviolent, unarmed and often times cooperating with police that are abused or killed during a stop. It is all over the media. There is a movement spawned about this called #BlackLivesMatter and generated nationwide coverage. Even if you don't agree, it is amazing to be completely ignorant of the issue. Stop and read about Michael Bloomberg's "stop and frisk" policy that was in place. This was fairly recently and there are still man police who were part of that era and react that way. She went out of her way to describe him as an African American man and her as a white woman four times in the brief call. And each time she escalated what was happening from threatening her dog to threatening both her and the dog to threatening and attacking her and the dog. And each time she feigns greater and greater anxiety and hysteria like he is doing something to her. In point of fact, he is standing at a distance and videorecording her on the phone. In fact he did nothing aggressive to her and she was the one that was oddly aggressive to him, approaching him and reaching out for his phone until he asked her to please stay away. She was the aggressor, but she called the police and lied to them about what he was doing and their race. She knew that if the police responded to a call of a black man attacking a white woman in the park that they would treat it as a threat situation and neutralize the alleged attacker first before they stopped to assess the situation. They would do all they could to ensure that there would be no violence before trying to determine what happened and as a result, at best, Christian Cooper would be handcuffed and manhandled or at worse beaten, assaulted or shot before he would have any chance of defending himself or his actions. It has happened dozens and dozens of times over just the last few years. And she lied and fabricated a story to get such a response out of the police. If you can't see the racism and maliciousness of this deceit, then you really need to get out of your white privilege bubble.
