And again, isnt it time for UN assistance rather than massively rearranging how we prioritize US resources? Only a small percentage of these visitors qualify for asylum. There are camps all over the world processing refugees. Many people wait years. Meanwhile, while proper processing folks we could also examine our quotas and means for legal entry - we need legal migrants (seasonal workers) and immigrants. Legal.
That is ridiculous. CPB has a $14 billion annual budget and plenty of personnel and contractors. They should be able to handle this surge at the border quite easily, but instead they spend most of their time and money working on a ridiculously expensive and pointless construction project because some idiot promised to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it.
Can you deal in facts? How much would it cost to run a refugee camp with housing, medics, lawyers aid, spiritual houses, schools etc. Then to add additional judges to process all cases more rapidly? How much of the CPD money is being spent building a wall? You said most? Also, I thought it was illegal for us to "hold' families or what not? I'm saying build comfortable refugee camps (as many people in America today passed through) and hold those families, for years even, until processed or their claims denied.
