PP ^^ I think you misconstrue the point of my posts. Many of the posts here seem to be in denial of the actual state that VYS is in. Particularly in image from the outside. Any criticism is met with "you're a troll" or "you're just a bitter ex coach or board member". These statements are made as if in denial that the criticisms may be valid. Part of improving anything is starting off with an admission that there is in fact a problem. My posts were only meant to point that fact out in hopes that it would stir constructive dialog. But clearly people are not ready to talk about what the club needs to improve if they are not yet willing to accept that it needs anything to begin with.
Yes we get it, "oh VYS is so horrible and worse than any other club in the universe." How about you just STFU and move on because nobody here GAF what you have to say.....if you have an honest beef, take it up with the club TDs instead of whining like a brat who just wet his panties.
It is obvious that you are not ready for a discussion.
Neither are you. Some of us are, which is why some of this thread has been useful. To answer the question on why I'd pull VYS out of VPL -- I just don't see what they're gaining at this point. The top girls teams can (and do) find better competition outside VPL. The winless boys teams should go to leagues in which they aren't getting crushed by the best non-DA players in Richmond. And if you're trying to get your top players in VDA, then the whole "see all the club's best players in all age groups at one place" notion, which was flawed in the first place, is diminished even further. Also, I'd enter all VYS House teams from U-11 on up in SFL, and I'd start a pickup rec soccer program for people who don't want to do that or can't commit to a whole season. And I'd do a better job of publicizing VYS's college commitments (yes, they have some) and publicizing the club's possession-based style. (And perhaps bidding farewell to any coaches who don't play that way.)
