Getting rid of the Wootton name, and getting rid of a top performing school is what the BOE and Mont County Gov would call "equity". The Wootton parents can just pay for private schools if they don't like it. if you are a Wootton parent, perhaps you should consider this when voting BOE and county positions.
I can’t afford private schools for my kids. I need to save for their college tuition
The only people I know in the Wootton cluster who would be able to pay for private are the ones that only have one kid. We also can’t afford it. A lot of people on this thread think Wootton parents are very rich apparently.
Wootton does have some more upper class areas. Maybe not as rich as some of the stereotypical/traditional richer areas around here. One thing that kind of struck me were the number of speakers today that contribute to society in general. We had: -a police officer -at least one professor (was it two?) -a city councilman -an education policy maker And I'm guessing the speaker who referenced Astra Zeneca is a researcher and helps in a related field to that. Yet people on the board choose to beat up on them. It even goes back to how Wootton had been neglected for so long. You'd think one of the top five performing high schools in the district would kind of be valued and be given all these special things and considerations. Like they'd be given some brand new state of the art campus to help them to continue to excel. But instead the student body makes do with what they have, they do complain about it once in a while, and still perform. Seems kind of backwards to me.
What are you referencing with “board beating up on them”? I didn’t watch the meeting. Are you referring to the “kids are watching” comment?
No I mean the members on this message board/forum. Sorry I'm old and still use old internet terminology.
