Deeply unpopular with whom?  Certainly not the business owners and car owners whose property has been destroyed. Certainly not the law enforcement and ICE officers trying to do their legal jobs. Certainly not the American taxpayers whose tax money Newsome and Bass will request from the Federal Government to rebuild LA (since California doesn't have the money). [/quote]

How do Marines maintain control?  What do they do to provide cover?  Those business owners will be singing a new song [b]IF[/b] these Marines do what Marines do.  The government will not be paying them back for their destroyed property.[/quote]
