For kitchen backsplash, island and countertop, we want to use the same quartz in all 3. We are debating between two quartz: PEARL JASMINE (Level 6) and CALACATTA GOLD (level7) Any recommendation ? I have read great tips here before and hoping to get some for this :-) You can zoom and see both quartz here: https://www.tollbrothersdesignstudio.com/studio-locations/md/columbia#view=walkthrough cabinets will also be whites (level 2 and above) if that matters Thanks
We chose Miami white (level 3 upgrade) for the kitchen countertop, waterfall island, backsplash, and all bathroom and powder room and prep kitchen countertops. Our current home have the Calcutta gold in the kitchen countertop, island, and backsplash; the all white quartz (Miami white) seems more contemporary for the interior of a modern farmhouse (our current home is a transitional craftsman style home). Our cabinet choice is the same as the one in the Palatine model home (level 2 upgrade). Like the slab style, wood look, textured, light colored contemporary look. We all lower cabinets of main kitchen to drawers for pots and pan, and upgraded all bath and powder rooms and prep kitchen cabinet doors to the same style. Also upgraded all bath and powder rooms cabinets to include drawers. The sink faucets, knobs, shower heads, towel rods, bathroom hooks, etc. are upgrade to the same style as in the Palatine model home
Cool, good to know. We plan do exactly the same thing except with one of the pearl jasmine or calacatta gold. We are looking to get a light hardwood floor on first floor (level 4 upgrade) and light Luxury vinyl in both basement and second floor What did you do for flooring ?
We like the maple (natural, very light colored - level 2 upgrade) engineered hard wood but it was only available in 5 inch width (cost would be $17K+ for the first floor; $57K+ for first and second floor). We also like one of the level 4 engineered hard wood floors (7.5 inch width) but the cost was too much for our budget ($25K+ for the first floor; $75K+ for first and second floor). Our basement (Palatine model) is unfinished; exterior wall insulation and bath room rough in will be included, and we added one additional daylight window/ well in basement and rough in for the wet bar. We are upgrading to Wolf/ Subzero for the main kitchen appliances plus an under cabinet cooler (Subzero) for the butler's pantry. Total design center cost: approximately $100K+ Lot premium: $140K Structural upgrades: approximately $150K Low voltage/ security camera/ Wifi/ audio/ surround sound/ ethernet/ smart home pre-wire: $20K Recesses lights/ led lights/ electrical: $25K Base price of home: $1.58 Mil
