You are arguing with yourself. This parsing of U10 girls losses -- is this how you have chosen to make your cry for help?
I'm not parsing U10 wins and losses. Im establishing a trend. It was another poster who claimed VYS has a "thriving" program pre U12 before all the talent leaves for DA and ECNL. The records pretty much state that the teams perform at the about the same level throughout all age groups. We are not seeing a trend of teams starting out slowly but later developing into stronger teams at older ages. Also, keep in mind that this is the only club specific thread. Such a specific thread does not indicate a strong, thriving club. This club is clearly in a bad place and is seeking answers. The existence of this thread indicates that and the performance numbers demonstrate that as well. If you believe the club to be strong you are deluding yourself. If you think the club is making appropriate and measured changes to improve, well time will tell. Hopefully VYS can turn things around but it will take time.
You know what the problem is...ex-VYS parents, ex-coaches, ex-admins or just plain crazy people that are constantly posting negative things about VYS. Who f'ing cares?? If you don't like it, leave. All the power to you. I think the majority of parents understand what VYS is and if they haven't left they are obviously good with it. And most importantly there are many folks that have stayed that are working to improve things. Even in this tough area where other clubs poach and are constantly making a push to steal players. We don't need some pompous jackass posting on an anonymous site telling us what our club is. So F off. Go figure out what is wrong with the US soccer federation...make yourself useful.
+1,000,000,000,000,000 Look, MY kids -- one rec, one low-level travel -- aren't at VYS right now. They might go back at some point, though, and we sure as hell didn't make the decision over whether a bunch of freaking U10s were winning tournament games. Maybe VYS should start its own tournament and seed its teams in low brackets, like everyone else does. Would you be impressed then, Stat Man?
The poor records demonstrate that by and large for the whole of the CLUB, VYS is simply not fielding COMPETITIVE teams. The question is why? Reason provided have ranged from: 1. "We lose all our talent to DA and ECNL". I provided the records of the younger ages to see if this bore any fruit. And based on records, for what they are worth at younger ages, there was simply no evidence that younger VYS teams perform any differently relative to their older cohorts. 2. "The club is making changes, hence the purpose of this thread to discuss". This implies that organizational problems were to blame. This will take time to sort out. The major hurdles to seeing sustained improvement will rely on several factors, among them are player recruitment and retention as well as coaching recruitment and retention. 3. VYS is no different than any other club and you are nothing more than a troll for pointing out things that we believe to be meaningless." The Win/Loss records are nothing more than a symptom. So while reasonable parents will make a decision based on more than a win/loss record at U10, parents of older kids however will want their kids on competitive teams for a variety of reasons. For some parents finding a pathway for their child to play at their highest level is important, for other parents they just want a place for their kids to play. Currently, VYS is lacking in the destination department for kids seeking a pathway. Again, VDA might change that but in reality it applies only to younger kids. Older players seeking a pathway to college would likely look elsewhere.
Answer this last one: You have made your point and I think it is fair to say you have. How come you keep posting? We aren't buying what you are selling. Are you on mission to rid the world of VYS?
