I didn't read the whole thread, so maybe I missed something. In what place is the government [i]forcibly tearing[/i] covers from women's heads? I've heard of laws banning full covering in public spaces (France, Iran under the Shah?), I've heard of countries where women are required to wear coverings of some kind (Iran now, Saudi Arabia), but not about forcible tearing off. Is this happening in Europe? [/quote]

I imagine the way it was done was indeed viewed as aggressive in her eyes according to this quote -

So how many cultural sensitivity courses are we required to implement so that no one's religious rights are violated?  And who's paying for that?  And do we blame the police in this case for following protocol?
