I've done three-four listens. Fate of Ophelia is only "good" song though I like actually romantic too and, to a lesser degree, cancelled. The rest, including cancelled and actually romantic, are all fillers.
Those are my favorites too. But I’m old enough to remember that when new albums were released, 1-2 great songs was all we expected. We almost never liked or listened to the other songs. We couldn’t even name them. So it’s impossible for me to be disappointed about that.
I don't know about this. When you liked the artist you listened to the whole tape (ha ha) and ended up liking much of it even if onely 2 singles got radio play. And for Taylor's past music, this was true. I've done my time with this one, and there just isn't much there beyond Fate of Ophelia. I think both her and Matty were broken by the loss of each other as a muse and object of longing. He's not able to produce anything at all, and her production has the depth and heart of a fingernail.
