My DH's Irish immigrant family sent remittances home to Ireland for decades. It saved the family farm and supported quite a few people. Ditto my own Southern European relatives. [/quote] Yes we do. They come into this country , use resources they haven’t paid into (schools, healthcare etc.) and then instead of spending their untaxed-under-the-table-wages into the economy they are using, they send it to another country.
