More than 1 friend of Joe has claimed/posted that he only recently met the Banfields and that he had been to the house before the visit where he was murdered. So, not first but not that long either, probably. Very https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Winger and maybe sold to Christine as being @ BB's birthday on 2/23. These kinds of situations are typically the idea of the DH, it's his fetish, commonly. If the Banfields were new to all this, even more likely was a ruse and lure.

In the interview that AP's mom gave, seemed to imply some prior past relationship between CB and JR. May be a translation issue, but that seems to be a possible claim they are trying to establish.
