Niche rankings are fickle.  If you look at their "Best College Prep Private [i]High Schools[/i]" rankings, which arguably are more aligned with what is being discussed in this thread, Niche ranks Brearley at #18 overall (and at #4 in New York, behind HM, Riverdale, and Chapin.)  Probably best not to rely on these too much.

No matter what ranking, Brearley is not punching above its weight in leading college exmissions.  It typically does and has for years, and thus it is punching right at its weight.  That's the main point.  Agree that Niche is useless though.  They have a "Best Private High Schools in NYC" list (Brearley 1) and a "Best [i]College Prep[/i] Private High Schools in NYC" list (Brearley 4).  What the difference is in those two lists I have no idea.[/quote]
