I hope the alumni and parents of students at Brown scream about the lack of security and cameras on campus. For a university with a considerable endowment, this is unacceptable.
+1 absurdly inadequate
I would like to hear more about the homeless graduate that is apparently unable to be gainfully employed for whatever reason (mental illness, drug addiction?) …yet is allowed to live/loiter on campus despite having no legitimate purpose to be there. Is this common?
Are you talking about the hero who actually solved the case?
Hero? He didn’t save anyone or prevent the Brown shooting (or subsequent MIT shooting). He helped police find the killer’s dead body sooner. The killer shot himself Monday shortly after he killed the MIT professor.
Nobody knew he was dead. Reddit helper was trying to not only solve the case but also stop more killings.
The homeless guy had an odd encounter with the shooter hours prior to the shooting where they exchanged some unfriendly words- and he noted the Florida license plate. So…you have this encounter- then hours later the shooting happens and the shooter’s picture is all over and the homeless man doesn’t reach out to police? WTH. Instead he posts on Reddit? The police had to go looking for him and it was several days later until they connected with him. If he would have called the police right after the first shooting happened, potentially they would have found him before he went to MIT
So, you're saying that the US should demilitarize the police and decriminalize homelessness, so that fellow citizens with important contributions to public safety feel safe talking to authorities? I agree
Oh please. He could have called police that same evenings but he didn’t. Anyone can call the police with info on a crime at anytime, and remain anonymous.
