This is from a 2021 CIS study which was heavily criticized - it made a lot of assumptions and estimations in calculating "undocumented" - CIS is known to be heavily anti-immigrant.

CATO Institute did a much more recent analysis https://www.cato.org/sites/cato.org/files/2025-02/Briefing-Paper-184.pdf and has some very different conclusions, that illegal aliens are consuming significantly less benefits than what CIS claims, that at most they only consume around 3.5% of welfare and other entitlement benefits.

And even if it were true, since 2021 there have been numerous policy shifts that tightened access to benefits, such as HHS redefining programs adding 13 additional programs to the restricted list, the OBBB Act, which modified access to SNAP, Medicaid, and housing, and EOs which also tightened access.  Not to mention, isn't the Trump administration touting how many illegals they've deported?  So how can they be both deported AND consuming all these benefits?   Schoedinger's illegal alien?
