It is one thing to deport but it is unconscionable to handcuff hands and tie their feet, deny water, refuse toilet facilities and people fainting from the heat on the plane. Just when you think trump and his goon squads can sink no lower they go subterranean! https://www.yahoo.com/news/brazil-slams-us-dozens-deportees-065725467.html
If you thought for a few seconds you would immediately realize the danger of not securing people who are being deported back to a country they may not want to return to. What would happen if even a few of the 88 deportees started to take over the plane, get into the cockpit, or take a federal agent hostage. It's not like they can shoot people charging toward the cockpit on a plane. The men on the plane were shackled in the rear and women and children, who were not handcuffed, were placed in the front. Under Biden it was standard procedure to shackle men. Biden sent 32 planes with a total of 3660 deportees to Brazil from 2023-2024. The issue was all the mechanical problems and no air-conditioning. Normally it is a 4 hour flight but the plane had mechanical problems and had to stop in Panama and then Manaus. Last time on I flew Spirit I got absolutely nothing during my 4 hour flight. Social media posts by passengers say that the flight was delayed because of a problem with the air conditioning system and that at least one passenger fainted and required medical attention. There are US Airlines where passengers have been stuck on the tarmac for hours with no water: "Passengers on a United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Rome were trapped for more than seven hours on a plane without air conditioning and say they were offered little in the way of food or water during the ordeal. (August 14, 2023). Here are some Brazilians who have recently been detained by ICE. Would you want to sit next to them unshackled on a plane? U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested Luan Lucas De Sousa Goncalves, 21, Dec. 2, 2024. De Sousa is a Brazilian national who unlawfully entered the United States July 22, 2023, and has been charged with rape and indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. The Plymouth Police Department arrested him on that charge a day before turning him over to ERO Boston. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston said a Brazilian national was arrested on Dec. 31, 2024 in Fall River for a murder charge in his home country. ICE said the man entered the United States in New York in March 2024 and violated the terms of his admission by failing to depart. Officials in Minas Gerais, Brazil, issued an arrest warrant against the Brazilian national in June 2024 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested a Brazilian national in the country illegally and charged in Massachusetts with several crimes, including attempted murder. ICE said in a press release that 33-year-old Evandro Ribeiro-Rosa was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston in Worcester District Court Aug. 12. The Worcester Police Department arrested Ribeiro-Rosa July 16 2024 and charged him with attempted murder, stalking, intimidation, kidnapping and two counts of vandalizing property. Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) announced that Jackson Bento-Pinheiro was apprehended in Wakefield, Massachusetts after illegally entering the U.S. Authorities said the 35-year-old was charged with assault to rape, indecent assault and battery, and domestic assault and battery in Massachusetts.
