Hmm. I'm pretty confident there aren't a lot of soldiers that refer to themselves as "warfighters," unless used ironically and with air quotes. Maybe a few 18 year olds in their second week at Parris Island. Joni Ernst is being very cringe.  [/quote]

No. I work for DoD. You hear this term alot (it is analogous to “trigger pullers”).

Civilians think service members all engage in combat, but most do not. They support the effort or the troops (military hospitals, cooks, mechanics, hr,  engineers, lawyers, etc). [/quote]
