If not, will the OP be sure to come back to tell us when it has?
Not OP, but we've already been through it. Half my coworkers called in sick on January 2, and most of those are working remotely and still recovering from Covid. You can tell they are still recovering, brain fog plus continued coughing. One older coworker caught Covid in mid December, is good enough to be home from the hospital but does not feel good enough to work yet.
So when does the bad part start?
My guy, this isn't great. This is avoidable suck. It doesn't have to be horrific for you to give a damn, or does it?
This seems like a pretty typical winter. What seems so bad about it to you?
Pretty typical? With RSV and hand/foot/mouth making the rounds, not to mention the covid wave that motivated smarter medical facilities to reinstitute mask policies? Or are you just calling that the new normal now?
NP. Yes, a lot of viruses circulate in winter. Unfortunately Covid is now one of them.
Which is why I mask, like a smart person.
Did you mask every winter before 2020?
No. Honestly, it didn't occur to me. But as soon as it did, I did. Increased access to information and resources changed my behavior. A smart person, like I said.
You didn't know about masks before 2020? Checks out with your overall level of knowledge.
You, of course, knew all about n95s. Because you're so smart. And so pretty! Interestingly, I actually had a box of n95s when this started (and donated them to a hospital) because I needed them for mold remediation. But my culture didn't sanction wearing a mask out in public, so it didn't occur to me that I might protect myself from winter flu, etc., by doing so. And then, we started wearing n95s to protect against covid, and i didn't get sick anymore. So I kept wearing them, because I learned. You should try learning, PP. You could learn to mask, you could learn to mind your own business, you could learn to scroll on by...
