Scale matters. Putin has a clear agenda that is limited scale and well within his power. Hitler and napoleon were delusional who did not match their appetites with their capabilities. Putin has done nothing of the sort.
As the saying goes, "No plan survives first contact with the enemy." Moreover, it is unlikely that you are fully briefed on any agenda Putin may or may not have. I wouldn't be too quick to downplay the potential for catastrophe.
We clearly have different definitions of what is catastrophe. This is bad for ukrainian people. Georgia and Moldova should be worried. But people thinking Putin is gonna March tanks into Paris are being hyperbolic
Who is thinking that? Ukraine will keep Putin busy for sometime so any addition expansion will not happen overnight. But, if Putin succeeds in Ukraine, he won't stop there. But, I think destroying a country of 41 million people, probably killing 10s of thousands, and provoking a huge wave of refugees that may well destabilize neighboring countries is a catastrophe by itself. If it spreads to additional countries, it will be even worse. You seem to think that this is some Russian version of the US attacks on Grenada or Panama. It is much more than that.
There are a lot of hyperbolic people who think Putin is hitler and napoleon. Even blinken and Harris think so. They always compare this action with ww2 and totally glossed over how crazy things were in the balnaks in the 90s
