But please tell me how there is only one random bad study that says masks don't work. No one anywhere, says that masks are perfect. They are ONE step in preventing covid. Again, I really understand the hatred some have for them. I think it is odd to not be able to adapt to something after 2 years, but it is fine if folks find masks uncomfortable. Just there is no need to spout of claims that they are useless, when obviously they are not useless. They just aren't 100% protection.

Thanks for actually providing evidence. Some of the reviews indicated that the data on masking was "low certainty," which is matched by what the EU's CDC said in it's review of the data, that it was low in certainty.A few of those studies, or studies in the reviews that are actually linked, are dissected here.

I had read through this one (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abg6296) before, about how masks work, and noted that it mentioned specifically that in virus-rich environments all masks perform worse. Isn't one of the big things with omicron that it causes more viral load and viral shedding? Wouldn't that mean that those scientists claiming the "science changed" were right because the virus changed?

Any mannequin or laser studies aren't that useful because evidence shows that masks as actually worn when mandated don't reach anywhere near their peak effectiveness. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abg6296[/quote]
