If you knew a wider segment of society, I think you would find that a lot of parent(s) (often a single parent) simply don't put in this amount of thought or effort concerning kids' schools. The kids go to school bc it's the law and bc they have to be somewhere during the day. Why do you think low-performing schools are low-performing schools? Because the parents aren't enforcing the importance of education. [/quote]
