This is a tough one because Holistic admissions definitely help inner school kids with lower test scores who can say, look at all the obstacles I had to overcome to get to where I am and that shows how I will keep working hard in college. Which is a fair thing to argue. Standardized tests have known biases, our school systems are not equal, so moving purely to grades and test scores can also be a means to discrimination. There is no easy answer here. One good step would to have diversity represented in the people making the admissions decisions so that non-traditionally white male extracurriculars don't have a disadvantage. [/quote]
