Op, did you choose the names first and tell them to your sister only for her to steal them? Otherwise, I don't understand how you can think it is okay to lift BOTH of your niece's names - each unusual and clearly the product of considerable thought by your sister. Especially because you are not close to her, everyone will always think you actually are so crazy and lacking in perspective that you turned the occasion of your daughter's birth into a chance to spite your sister. I think this is a troll thread, but if you are not a troll then you need therapy.
OP here I've liked the names since I was 10 years old. I actually still have the little story I wrote called " Margaux and the Dolphins" It's the only names I've every really liked. When my sister was pregnant I purposely said nothing because I didn't want her to use them. I was pretty upset she used both names I liked, but I couldn't do anything because she got pregnant first. I'm not spiting anyone. I've always liked those name, and I don't see a good reason why I should have to use names I don't really like just because my sister used them first. If she wants to have a tantrum about it she can.
Fine, OP. In that case, just give your daughter the same name as your niece and consider cutting all ties w/ your sister as well so you don't have to deal w/ her anymore since you hate her so much.' A lot of posters posted thoughtful suggestions of lovely names but it seems that you already have your mind made up so I'm wondering why you posed the question in the first place unless you just wanted to argue w/ people.
I don't want to argue with people. Some pps suggested some names that are okay like Eliza and Noelle but my husband doesn't like those. I'm not arguing with anyone. I'm trying to explain things, but some people came in here and decided to be nasty and attack me. I'm not going to allow people to have a go at me without giving it back.
There were tons of names listed here as suggestions, though, but you don't respond to that. You only respond to the nastiness to "defend yourself" instead of taking to heart some of the thoughtful and helpful suggestions made here and ignoring the haters. There are always haters on these threads...try to find the posts that are trying to be helpful and kind and focus on those instead. I find it very hard to believe that you and your husband truly can't agree on a single other name that you like. It really seems like you are just trying to be a contrarian and make this as difficult as possible. There is no perfect name but there are hundreds of nice ones.
