Which schools would this be close to?
Parklawn, Belvedere and Mary Queen of Apostles
Maybe the third, but it's not that close to the first two public schools. Parklawn is at the other end of Lincolnia Road and Belvedere is almost in Annandale.
ParkLawn is less than a mile
Not according to google maps it's not. Distances must seem closer to you when you are afraid.
Actually google maps said it is.try again
Sorry but even if you measure from the very tip of the property, which is blocked by a large black fence, the distance to 4710 North Chambliss Street, Alexandria is 1.0 miles. The distance to an actual entrance is even farther. It's a straight shot down Lincolnia, so there is really nothing to dispute.
There will be no large fence around the shelter, the proposed site to the school property is less than a mile. And half a mile to a day care and Catholic school where little kids are outside playing. This is undisputed fact
OK give me the exact longitude and latitude of the points you are measuring, and the distance. I have measured it three times. The property I was referring to was the school, which actually has a big black fence at that tip. Fact. And since I am a Catholic, I have no problem saying that we have an obligation to the poor and I am unafraid of my children being within a half mile of them. In fact my children are less than a half mile from homeless people all the time.
