More than curious.[/quote] The NAEYC accreditation is usually used by preschools. By having degreed, credentialed teachers in the classroom, as well as access to "specials", Hearst certainly exceeds the NAEYC standards by a large margin on a number of dimensions. The staffing ratios are just one criterion. My child isn't at Hearst, but attends another DCPS preschool. I, and a number of other parents, had our kids at NAEYC accredited schools prior to entering DCPS. Our consensus is that the DCPS preschool is superior. [/quote]
