Are there any women here who actually like working and want to actively pursue and grow their career despite having children? Does your husband's income affect this attitude? If so, what do you do? Why does it bring you so much fulfillment?
Yes, I really do like working because I LIKE what I do. I work for a private wealth manager. I have two school aged kids, so my hours are parent-friendly. 8:30-3pm. The job is fulfilling enough and pays enough to make it worth my while, and I really have no desire to "grow my career" as it would mean having to study for and get industry specific licensing which comes with a whole other set of responsibilities and stress that I am not interested in having. And yes, my above attitude does have a lot to do with DH's income. At $280K, he makes enough so that we can live a comfortable life, at least comfortable by our standards. Because of this I can afford to have the attitude that I have no desire to grow my career.
