[/quote] This guy didn't come forward, though, he started blackmailing Hastert. There is a difference. I agree that it is easier to come forward now--but I think you are exaggerating that sexual abuse was more tolerated--it was embarrassing to the victims in those days. I think that is one of the issues. Also, in colleges, there was much more segregation of the sexes and supervision. Men were not allowed in girls' dorms--that kind of thing. I think that probably kept some of it under control. But, I guess I am showing my age. [/quote]
