I don't believe her either.  Not saying he's a saint but I do not believe she's such a victim as she made herself sounded after being with him for nearly 2 years.  Also, I'm very suspicious of the level of involvement in their relationship from her mother.  It sounded really weird to me.  It's also odd that the article did not mention her father's objection/opinions in all this--only the mother.  I know that my DH would not sit so quietly by if he thinks our DD is being taken advantage of or is in a relationship where she's a victim to abuse.
