This subject is covered extensively on many grammar websites and you are not in the minority in not understanding this grammar rule. You should google it and educate yourself. Most of the websites use your description as the wrong way to explain it. Did you go to one of those websites and grab that example but not realize they were using it as an example of what is wrong?[/quote]
