Yes, I am sure they had a reason. I don't know that reason and I doubt that you do either. But, you said they killed Americans. It appears that you were wrong. I appreciate that you are now backtracking. But, do you at least feel a bit of shame for having been misled and attempting to mislead about this?

No - I am not backtracking and I still believe they were involved in killing Americans.  If they were working at training camps or helping to train other Taliban, they were involved in the killing of Americans.  [/quote]

Have some intellectual honesty. You described these guys as "killers of Americans". This does not appear to be true by any normal definition of "killers of Americans". At least, you have not presented any evidence that it is true. I don't think you made this up out of whole cloth, but were simply misled yourself. How hard is it to say, "my original assertion appears to be wrong"?

It seems to be a recurring pattern for conservatives to be misled by the propaganda sources they consider news (remember when Romney was going to beat Obama because of skewed polls?), not do any additional fact-checking, get caught spreading incorrect information, but then stand their ground because they "believe" it is true despite all evidence.

Simply put, what you said was wrong. No amount of hedging at this point is going to change the fact that you were wrong. Feel free to continue standing by your allegation. But, just remember your lack of interest in facts the next time you call Obama a liar. Maybe, you can just call him a "kettle" instead.
