I would be so pissed off if I were the parent being referenced. I hope the City Paper comment is a joke. What an awful invasion of privacy by brainless women with too much free time. Did it ever occur to you posters that the attention might not be welcomed?
Oh come on, lighten up. I've never met a man who didn't appreciate hearing that more than a few women find him very attractive, doubly so a man who is near 50. As far as tracing up from the cute kids, THAT is a missperception. First off, kids generally have lots of hair , whereas Dad, well, maybe not so much on top anymore, ya' know. Shit happens. When talking " Hot Dad", the Dad must be evaluated independantly. Personality is also a big factor. Extra points for the ability to put everyone at ease with good manners and a little genuine humility.
So, I guess you don't give a damn how it makes the wife feel? Not all people who are targets of your so called admiration appreciate it, and I'm pretty sure if the wife is black she doesn't appreciate a bunch of white women talking about her man in public this way. You may find these posts amusing and, yes, the subjects may find some of it flattering but sometimes unsolicited flattery can backfire. I would suggest posters be careful what they say. It's not just the object of your lust that's reading this. If you are somehow outed at one of these schools, there may be hell to pay from a spouse/partner. Also, think how you would feel if someone described you as attractive but with a big ass and dark roots?
PP shut up trying to stereotype "black feelings." I'm black with a hot husband and appreciate that other women find him attractive. It doesn't matter if it's a bunch of white, black, Asian, Latina women eyeballing my man or telling me to my face how handsome he is. Believe it or not our thoughts, feelings, and emotions can be quite similar to yours. Heck, there a few white hotties in my DS's form that I can't wait to see at the next school or family event. If you're a little different at STA you will stick out there's no hiding.
06:16 here. First of all, I don't have to shut up, and I am not stereotyping anybody. And another thing, smart ass, you don't know whether I'm white, black, pink, purple, male, or female. If you want people up in your husband's face or yours feeding you lines about how good handsome your husband is, that's fine. But don't assume that every male at schools want that kind of attention. To some it is offensive and putting personal information on this site is above and beyond what is good taste. You haven't a clue how these men will react or their wives. You have given descriptions of these parents and while you think it's just good old fashioned fun, it can backfire whether you like it or not. And for the record, since you assume that I might be white, I honestly and truly don't believe you are black. White hottie? Yeah, right.
