The delusional DCUM caucus is back in session. The meeting of miserable parents who are deeply disappointed in their own kids will now come to order. Let the taking of vile cheap shots commence.
The crazy will only escalate over the weekend.
Why over the weekend? The big meets are at the end of the month.
Because the most delusional parents are the ones who have 12 and unders.
OH! That is very true. I honestly just nod a lot to age group parents who think their child is the next big thing. You cannot explain to them that so much happens to a kid in high school on many developmental fronts - emotionally, physically, socially, etc. That a 13 year old is not the same as a 15, 16, or 17 year old. I have watched good AG swimmers become great, but have seen more great AG swimmers fizzle out. Sometimes it is a plateau of times but most of the time it is some external factor that makes them quit or dial back (pushy parents, academics, social, dating, other sports, etc.) In my head, I think let's see what that kid is doing at 16 or 17.
