My exH is worth over $50m. He was 35 and I was 25 when we got married. At that time I was a beauty with modeling experience, and two grad degrees. He had an Ivy PhD and a great early manager  career. Using your own logic, someone like him would marry a woman several steps above his own looks. So I must have been rather attractive. First wives are usually the prettiest all men can get. Yes, in older age they can remarry younger, but usually not prettier.

A conservative 3% withdrawal rate, which will last in perpetuity, would give her an annual income of $210,000, and she'll have more once she can start drawing Social Security.  $210,000 is plenty for a single woman.  I'm sure that if he's worth $50m, he can cover any remaining costs for the kids.

And PP's situation is so much better than a second wife, who will have to sign a prenup.  His best earning years are probably behind him.  Heck, his best years are behind him, period.  PP got the best of him.  Now she can go date hot young guys if that's her fancy. [/quote]
