It was well-known that she hated being photographed.  There was a video of her with JFK Jr being hounded by photographers in a parking garage and she just completely shut down.  She found the attention so unbearable that she didn't even want to live in NYC after they were married.[/quote]

They waited for her outside her apartment, followed her to work, etc.  The Princess Diana thing had just happened and the media was always saying JFK Jr was "America's Prince."  It was so bad she told people that's why she quit her job (probably bc the paparazzi knew her comings and goings when she worked.). They didn't have any security and their building didn't even have a doorman in those days.  I think the massive attention just spooked her.[/quote]
