Even their message today makes clear they didn't want to open because they claim an indeterminate number of kids could not go to school due to bus problems on "impassable" roads. Sounds like poor problem solving skills to me.
Have you seen the McPS attendance data? They have lot of kids absent even when it’s bright and sunny. Blaming the school buses and sidewalks without data sounds like McPS is trying to build a case justifying why it stayed closed longer than other school districts.
Yes. It sounds really childish to me. What they are saying is "SEE??? You MADE us open and LOOK what happened!! And is ALL YOUR FAULT!"
There were a handful of posters in the other thread that said schools should remain closed today. But no they opened because one family needed her kid to get an AP exam or AP materials. Stuff that's online.
You have no idea who is posting on these threads. There could be thousands of parents posting things that say schools should be open and a few McPS staff arguing that school should close til all ice melts because, when you have the day off, you have all day to post on DCUM. Angry parents like me wrote the BoE and their council members with names and addresses asking why MCPS was closed longer than neighboring schools and hadn’t submitted a virtual learning plan for severe weather conditions. Im sure they take that more seriously than DCUM.
