Something over which kids have no control.[/quote] Sure they do, they could proactively not apply ED to the school that they have legacy at, could have taken a ED shot at another equally rejective school or gone RD. That was a strategic choice, one that no doubt their counselor suggested was a smart one, all of which is fine but having used their legacy status and had it pay off it's a bit much to be insulted when others point out that it helped.
